antirollbar fitting guide ?

does anyone know of a fitting guide for the ARB's on a mk5 Golf? without having a look i wondered if anyone knew what the job entailed, ie does it involve droping the subframe like on the mk4 chassis.

the car is firm enough, theres just some slight body roll i would like to eliminate

Well finally taken the plunge and ordered some eibach pro srings. Lowers the car by only 10-15mm. Taken me ages to find somebody i can trust with the 4 wheel alignment. Booked in by the 17th so will post my impressions then.

ive had some pro-kit springs in the garage for months now, not sure weather to fit them, i will wait to see what you recon first  in the mean time i will get the ARB's put on i think.

i cant believe you guys wanna start  pulling about your brand new £25k cars and possibly wrecking em!!, i'd at least wait untill your warranty expires b4 pulling it apart, if anything ok might handle slightly better but to improve it, youve gota make the ride alot harder, and that would just ruin the cars day to day living with it.Ok for a track day, but not round town runabout  :undecided:just my personal opinion.

fair enough phil, i know what you mean, but its a case of getting things exactly as you want them. also the arbs dont make the ride harder

Have to to agree with you Phil.  I'll be waiting for the warranty to expire with my DSG Edition 30 - when it arrives - before getting a re-map and uprated suspension etc.. In the meantime I'll enjoy it as VW intended.  But each to their own - let us know if it improves the ride BMX ....

Fitting anti-roll bars is one of the best mods you can do to most cars. The OEM GTI's are excellent but uprating the suspension keeps the car better planted for fast road driving and roundabouts etc. Car manufacturers build their products to meet international legislation and to the lowest common denominator - there's always room for improvement of the standard car imo.

On more than one occasion another GTI driver has asked me for a passenger ride to hear what my Millteks sound like inside the car and then made more comments about the suspension than the exhaust.
