I know for a fact that the driver?s side glass mirror (RHD) is ?47+VAT from Volkswagen (as of December 2000). I contacted GPC who were able to offer me the exact same item for ?28+VAT.

I phoned GPC a week or so ago and they quoted me
Mirror Glass driv??????? 36.43
Mirror Glass pass??????? 27.03
including VAT.  I think they worked out ?5-?10 cheaper than VW.

As for the 12v if you have leccy windas I would splice it into that, when would you ever use your windows and mirrors at the same time? ;) Then you could make use of the same fuse.  If not just grab 12v from elsewhere and get an inline fuse holder.

on the back of the fuse box there's a line of contacts. The ones on the left (when the fuses are facing you) is live. just plug it onto there. above the fuse box there's a 'claw'. That's the common earth point. Best to connect straight to there to save problems like I had with my lights.

It should be wired up with the ignition on, good to know you got it all sorted. on a cold day you get steam coming of the mirrors as the defrost lol
