I've just bolted the motors into my colour coded shell this morning so they are the same. I'll rip out the dash tomorrow and lay the loom. I've got work in 20 mins.

Are the motors identical drivers side and passenger side?

And does any one have a spare motor?

The electric mirrors are heated and are switched via the rear heated window switch.

I'm pretty sure the feed comes off the back of the fuse box, most late golfs have the heated washer jets and I think its all off the same feed.

Yeah i got heated washer jets too.

I hope mine come without cut wires. I cant be botherd to fiddle with wiring in this cold weather

so your saying..rear heated window, heated washer jets and heated mirrors are off one switch? i.e the rear window heater switch?

Yeah thats pretty much it.

I am say that the heated rear window switch controls them, without looking at the wiring I would say that this is just the switching circuit and that the power feed comes from the back of the fusebox as it seems like a lot of current draw to run through the one switch.

there's a green and white wire I cut from the main loom for the mirrors. I'm guessing that's the one that links to the switch. From what I can see the mirrors get their power from the ignition, which doesn't seem right somehow. Should be a relay in there like the windows. the mirrors work off the same relay btw.

I shall be pulling my dash out (again) tomorrow morning and laying the loom tidy. Will report on the wiring when it's done :)

this should help :)
yellow/black to power through window relay
green/white to loom through switch
brown... do I really need to say?
