Got another update for y brains. A mate of mine has his own diagnostics equipment, the same as the vw dealers have and he did it for free for me. saved 40 quid! anyway we cleared all errors from the ecu then went out for a thrash. got the car to judder then plugged it back into the diag. one fault appeared. knock sensor - no signal. i dont yet know where the knock sensor is but its a good bet thats the problem.

if your refering to the knock sensor then i dont know cos i havent yet found it to unplug it. but if you mean how was it going with the idle stabalizeation valve unplugged, ok except for cold mornings - still juddered though.

been told the best way to find the problem is to get it on a rolling road with machine plugged in and them give it some welly!! the fault should then be traced, as soon as i get this sorted its getting sold so i can buy a vr6 ;D

the saga unfolds,
mechanic has been top class, as well as car going faulty at a certain rev band he has sussed that it its only at a certain runing temp also. changed relays, sensors and what i had done already but hes still going on with it!!
think some other people might have chucked it already, so heres to my knight in greasy overalls!!
