Right, extract in German as follows:

Nach dem Motto "pro Jahr ein zusätzliches Turbopferdchen" haben sich die Techniker dem Zweiliter-TFSI-Aggregat gewidmet. Erhöhter Ladedruck, ein modifiziertes Kennfeld sowie Eingriffe in die Hardware (u.a. neue Kolben) entlocken dem ausgezeichneten Motor nun 230 PS (Serie: 200 PS) und ein Drehmoment von 300 Newtonmetern (Serie: 280 Nm).

Website is as follows (extract is from the last paragraph of article):

http://www.autobild.de/suche/suche.php?A_SESS=41dd004f17433e56ab291a862117c64c&suchwort=edition+30+gti&aktion=suche&center=0

Now, if this is true, its great news!  The article seems like its related to the study back in May; wouldn't surprise me at all if this was true for the production car as well.  Maybe someone can shed some light on this - it better be true, as i've ordered mine today for March as well !!!

I know this sounds sad - and it is sad - but I just can't stop wondering whether I should get a steel grey car or a diamond black Edition 30.  I have currently chosen black and it goes with the carbon stuff I intend on putting on it and also goes with the 19" silver BBS Air alloys I intend putting on... but that steel grey car on the 2 page of this thread looks stunning.... I suppose black is the safe all-round choice and looks good whatever, but steel grey although looks stunning at times doesn't have that evil mean look.  Then there's Tornado Red - there is a stunning example with 18" BBS CH alloys on in the Anniversary thread on edition 38....  maybe I should start a separate thread and have a vote because its beginning to do my head in   no votes for white - I don't care what anyone says, it looks crap and no-one wants white unless they've had a lobotomy

It's not just you!!, i have a deposit on an Edition 30 but really wanted the Recaro seats, so now i'm struggling to decide between an Edition 30 with the extra power and Xenons etc.. with wheels that i'm not to keen on or a new GTi with Xenons and Recaro's etc..??????

Got to see some real pictures of the car not bad photoshopped versions before I can decide.  Steel Grey looks like it's winning the battle of the mind at the moment.  Having said that, with full body coloured bumpers silver could look quite classy and I said i'd never go for silver as it's too common.   At least I know I want a 3dr manual with Xenons and ipod dock.  Just gotta sort the colour out.

Someone find real pictures please.................................................................................................

Also I have ordered my car for March.  Dealer says no rush to spec it.  When will the deadline be??

Used to have black cars - they are nice when clean but unfortunately its a nightmare to keep it that way - plus it shows up scratches that way - Silver is easy to live with hence the popularity - but it does look good with black grill and red highlight.

Can't get more official than these pictures!

VW anticipate that dealers will sell out by the end of November.  Production is limited to 1500 units.  There are just over 250 UK dealers. That averages to 6 per dealer!  All Edition 30s will be sold blind prior to them being launched. (Unless your dealer sneaks one on as a demonstrator....like me)
