Hi

I've had a deposit on one of these for a month now - its good to hear some more news about it. My dealer said the best they could tell was delivery sometime next year.
I did give feedback when i placed the deposit - mainly please change the wheels, however more importantly if it was a DSG only was to forget my order and i'll go else where.
Any info on it being manual only.........?

Contacted my dealer and they have said there is no official word from VW as yet. My own feeling is that a November build would be quite optimistic - Boo!

Production does start in November, In week 48 which is the 20th of nov onwards.  I'm at a dealer, car should be here as of Mid January to ur dealership so should be same for other dealers. No word on Alloy colours or anything yet just that the 3 colours are steel grey, diamond black and tornado red, Which colour will look best? I'd say black. Should imagine will cost bout £22-23k but no news on prices yet.

I've heard the rims are a 18" Pescara style, but not seen any pics yet.

I would of though Feb was more like realistic delivery.

Would i be the most popular guy ever if I divulged that my stealer has called me to divulge various details including the price of a 30th Anniversary Golf? Called the Golf Edition 30, just 1500 will be made featuring the same GTi engine but in 230bhp guise, half leather seats, xenons and other bits as standard. I'm going to my dealer tomorrow to get details from the press release which was distributed to dealers only today. Price quoted today was.........i'd love to make you all beg for this.......£22,500.

He reckons order books officially open in Dec with each dealer getting approx 2 cars (this guy confirmed they're getting 2). Delivery is now estimated as April 2007 so working backwards production must be starting first thing 2007. Any orders or deposits paid now will be bagging a place in a dealer queue prior to ordering.

I want to find out how many other toys and gadgets are standard tommorrow and can report back if anyone is interested?

He said that my enquiry if the first they've had on the 30th Edition. Once i've made my decision I could, if wanted, divulge the dealer with at least one unsold Edition 30 and a top notch salesman....

Thanks for the update, good news and bad news for me - I went to my stealer today and put a deposit on one, I asked him how many others had done the same - answer 6  However, he said he would get me one after parting with the deposit.

This is a big stealer - coverage in the Manchester/Cheshire area - so this is going to be interesting

No impressed if he lets me down !!!!!

Please keep the info comming - you know far more than my stealer

Ok folks, the bad wheels have gone!!! In place are 18 inch pescara wheels which are siver BBS cross hatch type things. Dark rear R32 lights, side and front lower body colour skirts, various special edition badges and trims, heated front seats with interlagos centres and leather surrounds, golf ball gear knob, 1500 units being mad bot NOT being numbered, can be had in black, white, red, diamond black, reflex silver or steel grey.

Wheels cannot be changed nor can upholstery/seats.

Prices from £22,295 for 3 door manual goin up to £24,125 for 5 door DSG (all OTR).

Official allocation is now one car per dealer with extra orders being first come first served I think.

Available to order from 2/11/06 (but this has already been delayed to Dec), with the on sale date being 12/1/07. Launch vehicles due in the country Jan 2007.

Details will be on the VW website from 30/10/06 but no prices until 3/11/06.

How is that for under cover info?
