DO NOT BUY A CLUTCH FROM THESE MONKEYS!!!! Chances are you're not getting 5th due to the linkage
bushes being worn, 5th is the first one to go, its a £5 DIY job

I'd get a second opinion on the rubbers too, they normally harden or spilt, not heard of them expand before

- A worn rear engine/gearbox mount will give you trouble with 5th gear as the mechanism technically connects the gearbox to the cars body - best to get that sorted (Quite easy to DIY too

just put a jack under the engine and swap the old for the new, its 3 nuts)

That clutch quote is metal, a clutch costs about £50 and its 2-3 hours labour, I bet he was thinking of his summer holidays when he came up with that one

You should get that mechanic of yours to sort out all the work he's fuc&ed up then find yourself a real mechanic
