Like myself, Mr.Slick is from Surrey, and so appreciates how expensive things actually are in the real world

I never EVER thought i would hear myself saying this, but i do actually agree with corin.

That sounds fine, infact slightly cheaper than normal, as dealer prices are usually 80-120 bucks an hour. Non dealership garages are usually around £40-60 per hour. So you are getting a pretty nice deal on the labour.

What i would consider is buying in all the parts cheaply for yourself, then taking them to the garage, and getting them to fit them, so basically get the clutch (with the release bearing plate), possibly uprate it to a sachs sports DO NOT GET A LUK ONE, they are sh!t. Get the mounts from either one of the guys at ECP in leeds or ring GSF and see what they can do them for. Fuel relay as gib said only £20, and then see how much the quote will come down. Might save you roughly a ton or so.

Good idea slick but I just don't have the time to sort all that out I'm so busy at work I don't even have time for a luch break. Plus, as you can probably gather I'm not very clued up so would probably end up ordering the wrong parts. I will check with them about which clutch the are getting though what is a LUK? Didn't realise there were different ones!  Thanks for advice

GSF do sachs clutches, which are o.e.
Why are luk clutches so bad ?

Basically there are 3 main makers of clutches, sachs (O.E.) ,LUK, and valeo. you want a sachs one.

LUK ones are naff, as i find they are not very well made, and tend to end up being redundant in no time whatsoever, i remember a few people off here fitting them and then a few months later complaining that the clutch was fooked again. Sachs ones i have never heard a bad thing about.

Gem, pm the details of your motor to me and i will do some hunting tomorrow, see what the best prices are i can find.

I.E. engine size, year, etc all that stuff.

Thanks slick but I think they are going to order it tomorrow, so I was just gonna ring them in the morn and check they don't get a LUK one. Thanks for offering though. So you think £460 is a fair price for all that work doing?
