does the fuel pump prime? Does it stink of fuel?  Getting a spark?

yep and yep, plugs are soaking, and its sparking but just not firing!!!!!! got magnecore leads on and plugs are fine too :cry:

so when you turn the key 1 click the pump runs for a few seconds then stops?

OK, a last resort here.....   Lets assume that the dizzy is located 90 or 180 or 135 deg out to the standard.
1.  Check the leads going into the cap and double check the clockwise order is 1324,1324,1324 regardless of where the #1 lead is plugged in.
2.  If the above is true, unplug the leads from the top of the dizzy cap and move them all 'clockwise' by one position, (they will still be 13241324 but shifted through 90deg) and try again........
3.  If no go then move them all clockwise again by one position, (ie 13241324 but now shifted 180deg) and try again.......
4.  If no go then move them all again by one position clockwise (ie now 235 deg shift) and try again. If no go again, get your angle grinder out!!!!  :wink:

one to the gearbox, several to engine block to the flange on the RHS and the rocker cover, one from coil to rocker cover several on the battery.

Put a new blue temp sender on as it will never start with a broken one.

same as on an 8v i presume. Oh and cylinder 1 is the one closest the drivers side wing.
