How to remove front speakers.
« on: 15 March 2006, 09:34 »
Sounds like a dumb question, but the screws that are holding my speaker on are quite tight, and I can't undo them as I can get a screwdriver on them as the windscreen's in the way.

If I use my ratchet set the extenion also makes it too big.

Anyone suggest an alternative cheap screwdiver/tool/solution, otherwise I'm going to get racthet that directly sockets onto my screwdriver bits (which is more money than I'd have liked to spend).

i know ppl like Mac tools and snap-on, do little thumb drivers, it's like a little ratchet end that screwdriver bits fit into, and just roll between your thumb and forefinger, they're well dinky, thats probably yer best bet, i have 1 of those and a little bit set with a propper mini ratchet for them, does the job perfick, failing that, just get your screwdriver bit, and clamp it from the side with a set of mole grips, job done.......

That's what I thought, I just can't find anywhere to get one from :(

I tried with mole grips, but couldn't get good enough leaverage + downwards force, and the dash got in the way. (I'm starting to think someone superglued them ;))

I have a tool i got from Halfrauds that looks like a bit of stainless steel that is bent right at one end and left at the other end ( good description eh!!  :embarassed:)

Works really well, i can't find it on their website but might be worth a look!
