mk4 interference aarrgghh

can anyone help me Ive got a Mk4 1.8t with a gamma headunit with a phatnoise and in between tracks i get an interference noise through my speakers that gets louder when i rev my engine i didn't bother me at first but now its really irritating has anyone else had this problem with a phatnoise or a Cd changer as they both run off the same cable and can anyone tell me how to make it stop thanks in advance

Do you have any external amps?

i had a problem with interference from the engine onto the RCA feeds to a cheap splx amp...sounded like a cat in a blender!!

no running standard speakers of standard gamma headunit it sounds like a problem with the Cd changer lead to me just wondered if anyone else had any probs with theirs

Usually you get this sort of issue when you run audio signal cables allongside power cables. How and where is the changer installed? Another reason can be a bad earth on the head unit. Also you can buy coil supressors that can help eliminate this kind of issue but they tend to be used on older motors.

its the factory cd changer lead ive never touched it if it was a bad earth would it do it on the radio as well?

If you only get it when listening to cd's then id say its deffo an issue with the changers cables.

my mate had the same problem, and his cd changer then packed in!? it ws something to do with bad connection, but his cd changer was knacked anyway!

I would check all the connections anyway inc the earth, if not fit an in line noise suppresor :undecided:
