is ther a way of making them quite as it is sounding like a sawing manchine and i dont have the money to replace them yet and the noise doing my head in

change the oil...
if that dont make em noticably quieter then they are fooked

The only cheap way of improving them is to flush your oil and put new in with a propper vw filter as they have a non return valve in to help keep the oil at the top end.

Wynns hydraulic tappet cleaner usually does a good job at shutting them up.
Needs to be followed by an oil change a couple of hundred miles later though.

get a treatment called wynns hydralic valve lifter. Tends to do the trick worked in my old valver anyhow.

I used lifter in mine, but i would imagine they are pretty similar, as the lifter cleans and stops them sticking, and also lubes them so they do not rattle. Can't say i have ever seen a tin of cleaner.
