Just had an update for my 8.5 GTI. It's currently code 36 Port of Exit not released. Ordered back end of October.

It's going to be a March Delivery with March registration. It's taken a fair while but worth the wait all being well

Is yours via a lease ?

Mines is had update before Xmas that was going into build 6th of Jan but someone pointed out there was strikes on going so don't know if that's caused any issues.

Did ask for an update this week not had anything back so far.

Hopefully get it for March ordered 28th August

Hi mate, yes mines a lease. That seems a very long lead for yours seeing as you ordered end of August.. i'd be certainly putting in a big chaser

Had emailed last week and haven't had a response probably should call.

But finance agreement and everything went through on 28th August and there was meant to be a few cars left for September delivery but once I had done all that was none left except the red which was extra if I was wanting to pay for paint I would have went for a different colour.

was told I could get one December that went out the window with hardly any contact was told 6th Jan my car would go to build then read about strikes etc so have sent an email to see if everything was on track for March delivery but no response, lack of decent lease deals only thing keeping me hanging on.

Yep, with same company mate. firmed up order for mine 24th October though i did start ball rolling end of Sept. Would definitely give them a call. I had to ring to chase as no email, and they told me was at port awaiting release and they don't usually update via email until is in UK. They will call me or email me next week with a further update..

To be fair to them, the lad i ordered via has been good, he kept me updated with the build date and confirmed that it had gone ahead as instructed. I suspect yours has been built w/c 6th and is probably at Port like mine.

Did you look at Select Car Leasing before going ahead? I have never done a lease deal, but have always been impressed with the clarity and quality of their web site. Also got a call from them once and they seemed very efficient. Looking at what they are currently offering on an 8.5 GTI, it looks expensive to my eyes. Then again, everything is a lot more expensive than it was 5 years ago!

That is expensive. My deal with UKCarline is a lot cheaper than that on a similar basis. UKcarline do have a good rep, lots of good reviews. The lender is Alphabet who have a rep of being a bit slow with orders as i understand it though

Personal leasing always seems too bloody fast moving for anyone wanting something specific.

For all of the cheapness it just strikes me as a lot of stress.

Maybe I am just too old for stress like that.

Haha yes. Someone said to me a long time ago "the key to a happy life is not about what you want; its more about what you don't want". And stress is near the top of that list, especially as you get older!
