I’m pretty happy with the price overall, it was very close to DTD at the time and I’d rather not fall out with them about it so doubt I’ll mention it again, with a 1k deposit and 6k of options I’ll be paying £569 pcm, DTD were a little cheaper, but amongst other things, I want to pick the car up locally.

Fair enough. Your money, your choice. What are you planning to do with your current car? Always interesting to know what folk do with cars having a lot of expensive options.

They’re taking it as a trade in at full current market value, they have agreed to honour that should the value drop between now and then, or in the unlikely event of it increasing in value they’d up the offer, I’ve also got  the option to trade it in now and save the current monthly payments until the new car arrives.

Went in today to ask about the additional £750. Can’t be applied to my order. But I can place a new order for a stock car that is built and awaiting shipment. It’s in black, instead of moonstone.
£295 more list price, but £750 extra discount. So could have a black one a month sooner for £455 saving. After I got rid of my black S3 I said to myself no more black cars. But they do look great when clean… said I’d pop in Monday to let them know

My GTI MK8.5 in black is supposed to be delivered in September. Did your guy say when it's been shipped?

Ordered today a GTI in Kings Red, Queenstown wheels with DCC, sunroof and spare wheel.  Delivery could be up to 5 months which seems longer than others have been quoted.  I asked if it would be quicker without the sunroof and they said it made no difference.
Quite happy to stick with the 7.5 until then.

Congrats. I spoke to a main VW dealer in Yorkshire a few days ago and he also said "we are now quoting 20 weeks but it could be a bit quicker". There have apparently been a lot of UK orders for the new Golf R and this has apparently had a knock-on effect on GTI orders.

Yeah, there are quite a few either sat at dealers or on their way to them in the next few weeks. All the ones I have seen are cars where the colour (e.g. black metallic) is the only option included. If you want to spec other options (e.g. unusual colour, different wheels, sunroof, DCC, etc) then the official "20 weeks" kicks in as a fresh factory order.
