Mine is on 225/35 r19 Pirelli pzero and I would say that it was quite quiet (although grip is rubbish)

Some brands and types of tyres make more noise than others.

The mk7/7.5 doesn't really suffer with saw tooth rears like the mk5. I've had mk7 gtd, mk7 GTi pp and now my TCR and never had saw tooth rears. I do however check my tyre pressures regularly.

Errr yes it definitely does!

And likely as not it will occur before the tread depth is anywhere near the legal limit - the car is super light on its rear tyre usage.

I saw problems at around 55k on both of mine - the tyres probably could have lasted another 20k except for the insane noise.
well as I said this is my third iteration and not had a problem. I did on my mk5 mind you.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.
