I guess its really personal, but of the years I have spent here, I've never heard anyone say a Mk7x GTI had crashy ride, not even with 19's and no DCC.

I've heard people say that various things they do make it even better, but never heard anyone say it was terrible to start with.... unlike Audis.
Yes these things are very personal and subjective!
I did not say "it was terrible" just very crashy and fidgety.I could have easily lived with stock and 19s but felt I could improve on an already great car.
Just my personal feeling others may feel differently!

Thanks for the feedback Richard and look forward to hearing more once you’ve changed over to the Belvederes.

Me too, I have a set in the garage waiting for winter. Going to put some Michelin CrossClimate+ on them.

Welcome RichardP

I ran a very low mileage ED40 myself for 2.5 years, amassing a whole 6.5k miles or so.
I thought my old one must’ve been one of the lowest mileage ones around but obviously not!

I had no DCC and ran the car on 19” Pretoria wheels finding the ride quality absolutely fine.
Slightly knobbly on certain road surfaces but certainly not bad.
What kind of car(s) are you coming from Richard?

I run a TCR with DCC now and although it smooths out minor imperfections nicely it jars far worse on sudden sharp irregularities up to the point it really irritates me some days. I think the front springs are to blame. Or maybe the bushes... ?

An Ohlins kit is quite an investment so it’s good to hear you’re having a positive experience with that.
I think it’s a good idea to fit a set up like that to a car like the Clubsport as it gives the car a dual use potential (road and track) without any detrimental affect.

Oh, and where are the photos?

Hi Exonian
The list is 2 mk2 GTI's 2 Original VR6 E36 M3 evo (ghastly) 3 993 911s Lotus Elise and last was an Audi SQ5.
So not short of sportly sprung cars!
Interesting how your TCR is worse than Clubsport on 19s.Apparently the 19 Pretorians are very light so maybe that's the difference so who knows?
The ride on my 19s is not that bad and certainly not "terrible" just highlighted it as a weakness in my opinion and something that the Ohlins has rectified and in some ways massively improved...that's a result for me!
18 ins Belvederes arrive tomorrow.....must control myself and seal them up before fitting them!!!!

Interesting to hear about the car & mods RichardP, I have a CS on 19's with DCC, it is fine, bothe harder and softer when required than my previous Gti PP on 18"s.
What pressure do you run on your 19"s?  I find 38.5-39 all round works well.

Nice previous collection of past cars.
Other than the Q5, I have also owned the same list (plus others) and still have a 93 at the back of the garage, last time I looked? :)

The Mk7 CS holds up well as a package among the cars you mention.

Welcome Richard & nice one on the ED40 purchase. Can i ask what number it is on the plaque? sort of compelling a list together.

Ohlins as i read are meant to be the best of the best coils, i did look at them myself but i'll be settling on KW V3's which i've read plenty of reviews to be very good for what i need. Running 19's Brescia's on mine still but set of BBS 19's should be going on tomorrow now.

Hi Clubsport
Been running them at 39....36 made them much better but not sure that's a great idea!
Interesting we have had similar cars.My favourite was my last 993 orange c4 had it for 8 years and still miss it but a child late in my life messed that up hence the Q5.
Yes agree as a package the CS does stand up well, quick enough when required but can also do the day to day well and a really quality car....this one is a keeper for sure!

Hi all
Just put the Belevedes on.
Interesting weighed them against the Brescias with tyres 8.7kg against 12.7 kg so 4kg a corner....bathroom scales!
Ride is a bit better but not a massive difference.Steering is alot more pointy as is the front end.
Personally I like the delicate look.
