So I've been lucky and all is sorted for me to go an pick the car up tomorrow! After a long time on the forum without a GTI it will be nice to get behind the wheel.

I'm feeling a little sad to be getting rid of my Fiesta ST go-kart! But excited to be in something new.

Hopefully everyone else isn't too far from getting their car now!

Nothing come through for me. I'll be mightily pi44ed off if mine still hasn't been shipped. I know I've threatened before but it will be cancelled this time!!

Mines still sitting at Emden. No one at VW in UK or Germany has a clue how shipping works and it's apparently all down to the port companies what is allocated. 6 weeks it's now been sitting god knows where, absolute s4it customer service from VW.

Someone has posted the following on uk-polos.net forum earlier today;

‘Been reading over on the Tiguan forums as they're in a similar boat to us. One chap on there is very knowledgeable on the port layout
Someone emailed VW UK regional manager and they said that Emden currently has a 25000 car backlog to clear!‘

I wonder how a 25,000 car backlog compares to the number of cars normally waiting to be shipped during ‘normal‘ non-pandemic times?

They probably are not all VWs. BMW ship from Emden as well so it will be all the German manufacturers cars making up the 25k backlog I think?

Sorry yes, you are right. I was thinking for some reason my M135i shipped from Emden. Ive looked again and it was Cuxhaven to Immingham.
I think this lockdown has stopped my brain from working!

I wanted to say... I've posted some pics in new arrivals, I'm really enjoying the car, still getting used to the slight size change around the cities! But I'm surprised - I thought I would miss my Fiesta ST but this seems to fill the gap nicely! Love the 2020 PP!

Still trying to eek out some more economy on the long drives to balance the heavy footed driving otherwise. I'm reaching a max of 42MPG at the moment which is good, I keep everything in sports mode (individual with all but engine sound in sport, or DCC in comfort for the motorway).

All in all really happy. I have this desire to get it cleaned often though, which unfortunately I have to outsource as I'm in a flat but hey ho!

No updates whatsoever. It'll have left the factory 8 weeks on Friday this week. Rimp has had his 6 text so should be picking up soon. Guys on the mk2tiguan forum have said rumour has it that VW are delivering cars that are parked nearest the dock and then instead of moving cars forward they are just putting new factory ones in place. Basically the cars that are sitting at the back will get delivered when no other cars are sitting at the docks. I've now got a case number with VW so will see if I get to speak to someone sensible.
