I do feel for you, waiting 6 weeks for my PP was torture, can't imagine waiting as long as you have. I would say though it's a great car, if you can wait I'm pretty sure after the first drive all will be forgiven.

Lockdown 1st world problems... This arrived at the dealers right at the start of lockdown - imagine waiting nearly 3 months extra to drive this home!

Personally I would have red but it's a pretty amazing bit of kit
NOW - 330e M Sport
GONE - 2018 Mk7.5 GTI Performance 5dr DSG, Tungsten Silver, 2017 Mk7.5 GTI 5dr DSG, Indium Grey

So I think they've sorted the tax... Something VW finance have to do with approving acceptance of Tax on the car and clicking go.

The car is registered now and it seems that I can go and pick it up on Saturday. Woo!!

Mines still sitting at Emden. No one at VW in UK or Germany has a clue how shipping works and it's apparently all down to the port companies what is allocated. 6 weeks it's now been sitting god knows where, absolute s4it customer service from VW.

Not been on here for a while but did expect to see your "its here" post

Will say the car is worth it though, really fun to drive and as with all MK 7.5 the cabin is a nice place to be, love its looks more than ever, (it also gets plenty of looks) and to this day not seen another on road (maybe one of reasons why it gets so many looks)  so hopefully once you have it and are putting miles on it all the pain will fade into the distant.

Did you ever expect any other kind of service Chris? Last time they had a huge backlog of cars waiting dockside, they had that famous hail storm wrecking all the cars.

Make the dealership wait to register it as a 70 plate when it finally arrives!
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

70 plate did cross my mind and the way things are going with delivery that's when it'll turn up. We always knew the customer service was pi44 poor but it's the fact no one knows anything. Someone somewhere within VW must be in charge of deliveries and port allocations. I still can't see how they've got that much of a backlog, they weren't even producing cars for 8 weeks and mine was out the factory door the first week they resumed. Makes me wonder if it's been damaged or lost and the chassis number I've got is just made up 😂😂

Never a truer word.....  We had a mk6 GTi delivered in 2009 and when we collected it, it had the bumber blanking plates for the headlamp washers (painted white like the bumper) in the passenger door bin.... As it had headlamp washers we never got a straight answer as to why they were there.

Someone has posted the following on uk-polos.net forum earlier today;

‘Been reading over on the Tiguan forums as they're in a similar boat to us. One chap on there is very knowledgeable on the port layout
Someone emailed VW UK regional manager and they said that Emden currently has a 25000 car backlog to clear!‘

I wonder how a 25,000 car backlog compares to the number of cars normally waiting to be shipped during ‘normal‘ non-pandemic times?
2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)

2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk

2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

How on earth can they have 25000 back log. They must have had that before the factory shut or for the first few weeks after reopening they just didn't deliver any cars at all. Either way it's absolutely shambolic from VW.
