Time to Change
« on: 17 December 2017, 17:14 »
I have come to the decision that i have to change my Clubsport for something else.... Im a little gutted but circumstances have changed here and the car just is not practical anymore.
Basically i now have to transport some relatives and I'm finding it very very awkward to get them in and out of the CS, the seats are a nightmare, also the wife just will not drive the car after almost having a smash in it...
So this week i will be looking to trade my CS in for a standard Golf... sad times but things change i suppose..

The sports seats in my Golf are ok for my 80yr old mum to use as I drive her around as & when needed.

Way more comfort than CS or CCS....

Petrol engine max of 1.5lt 150PS & 250Nm....GT spec with multilink rear & leave in sport mode & only use shell vpower..

That's as close as you will get to a "quick" non GTI....

everything else is slower or heavier (diesel)

Tiguan? Might be worth a look, if more space and comfort is required. Lots of room there and close to Golf on safety. Not got 'post collision' though, only pre-crash. All Mk 7 Golf's have both and Golf does a tad better in the NCAP tests. Bit like driving a high up Golf and really comfortable seats! You get Golf like interior and same quality of materials/build. New one for 2018 gets the Golf 7.5's bigger Infotainment screen too..

Almost bought one when they first came out....

the estate had more length for skis & they don't hit my elbow...infact they don't come further than the back of my seat....SV on the other hand they were in way when changing gear....but that car is 9inches shorter than the estate which is about 1ft longer than hatch.

SV in GT spec is ok on lower suspenson so less body roll, BUT not a "golf" so parts are more unique as uses octavia length +50mm in wheelbase....insurance is higher & spec for spec it costs way more than the Golf hatch or estate....

SV is more slide across & sit up & beg & not drop down into...still good but not a drivers car compared to basic golf or estate..

Don't suppose you would be interested in a spotless GTD

I had my sister's Clubsport lined up for March April time by she is now talking about how much she loves it  and that she might keep it when her new car turns up. Obviously my car would have a fair few beer tokens in the glove box

5 door GTD in night blue collected 1/3/17
