You guys are spoilt for choice...bring your car over here, take it to the registration facility, spend a day (at least) waiting in the line, get the paperwork sorted, pay all the fees, present it to the 'man' ....out comes the cordless drill and on goes the plates....he chooses the position, not you! Each plate is fixed with a bloody big rivet, stamped with a recorded number, smack dab in the centre of the plate...that's in addition to the four corner screws!

Don't even try to guess what happens if you happen to lose a plate...the fee is usually more than the car is worth, the fine is even higher and your waiting time in the line is much, much longer!!

And there is no choice of plate style...you take what you get...same style fits all.

I followed the advice of Booth11 and got some from Europl8 on eBay. Going on this week - very impressed with the product.

Did you need to provide any proof of the registration required?  I don't have anything yet until I collect my car next week

No evidence at all. Get your name made up if you wish!

Doesn't it say on Europl8 that you must show them evidence? Did you just put your reg details on the order page?

it does, you'll need to look in FAQ.. i'd not send what they need i'd rather just drive there and get them sorted but i'm a lot closer than yourself :)

Which seller was that Deltarikk? Just had my new reg confirmed so was about to order off eBay, don't want to make the same mistake

Sorry mate, it was gelplate I think, he's sorted the refund without any hassles so I'm happy with that. I was going to suggest either use the same one greencode got his from off eBay as they look pretty good to me or go to europl8 as per booth11 pics, they look very good. I've contacted europl8 guy now and going to order from him, he's not back in till next week and it just so happens I need to call in to look at a job we've got in his vicinity so intend to drop in with the docs rather than post  .....that and I want the black border on mine.

Just a heads up about Europl8... they are fantastic. They charged me £20 for both plates and eight 3M sticky pads. I visited their unit in Fenton as I live local and I had messaged them the night before so they knew I was coming. When I arrived they had already made up the plates for me so I was inside the shop for about 3 minutes.

My Europl8 plates were bought from their stand at a car show and made up there and then and no docs were needed. The cost me £20  iirc.
