Clubsport S - Colours, Spec & Info ...

Hi Guys

Just wondering how many members are waiting for Clubsport S cars and what colours have been allocated to them? Also, has the dealer offered them Air con or Air con Delete and is there an option to upgrade the Nav ..?

I have a deposit and been allocated a Black car but had absolutely no feedback from the dealer on build, spec or proposed delivery ... Is this normal and what have other CS-S owners been told ...?

Black allocation with lookers Middlesbrough. I've asked a couple of times about aircon and have been told there's only one specification  (which is different from what I've read). Build start date of 10/10/16. Overall little to no Info from lookers I had to ask about the 'S' as they didn't know there was two variants.

What colour is the 's' in the evo review? Doesn't look black to me?

I registered my interest and was asked which of the three colours I would like and whether or not I'd like Air Con (White, and yes)

I was allocated a slot and confirmed that my requests had been met and within a few days was supplied with an order number

As far as I, my dealer or they're contact there was no option to upgrade the Nav, at least not in the UK

Build scheduelled for W/C 17th October 👍👍

As above, I ordered in my colour of choice (white) asked if I wanted AC but got the impression they were looking to see what the majority wanted and then make it std across the UK build.

My car is confirmed for build week 43. No options available.

Seems strange that you were allocated a car, I guess the dealer put in a moody order prior to you turning up.

Frustratingly still no confirmation on build for my Clubsport 40 which I only wanted to keep me busy until the S came.

Anyone know up to what stage can you change colour?

I have a white one coming build week 43, had choice of colour when I ordered also choice of A/C or not.

Mine is Black and Week 39, Red and white ones seem to be week 42-43.

Hi Jonny ....

This is my point with the whole VW thing ... In my Experience they are clueless when it comes to niche models! I placed a deposit - the next day they contacted VW and i was given a slot - a week later i was told it was Black but nothing about air con or Nav or build slot or anything ... I spoke to the sales manager and he was a good man and very apologetic and said that they are a Volume dealership and not used to dealing with these kind of cars and he also felt that VW didn't really understand how to deal with such a limited build ..?!
From what i can logic, i placed my deposit on 20th July 2016 and by that time all the white and red cars had been allocated - i may be wrong and would appreciate anyone else's opinion ...

This is exactly why most enthusiasts end up with a more premium brand than VW ...

I am in good mind to get my deposit back but don't want to cut my nose off to spite my face ... as the CSS looks to be a great car and an instant Cult Gti Car ...

I think you had to get in very early to get a colour choice. Some customers have been waiting for the limited run of performance golf since last year as vw asked for people who were interested in R400 so I think those that had registered interest in that got priority on colour choice. Also only 20 of the cars worldwide have the no air con option so its entirely possible they might have gone as well. The retailer wouldn't have had any build slot info in July as the cars were not allocated until early August by VW so thats when they were told what they had been given - in your case it sound like a black car with aircon. The dealers didn't know what price or spec they were until the press release went out to say VW had sold out and that it was £33995. There are no options for the UK other than the removal of aircon so they all get discover navigation.

I actually think VW UK did very well in allocating its clubsport S allocation. It seems they are going to enthusiasts rather than speculators as nobody knew how much it was going to be until after they had allocated them all. Quite different to some other brands and their limited edition models.

Thanks for that Jonny ... That makes allot more sense and makes me feel allot happier ... As you said, upon reflection VW have handled it differently to other manufacturer's and waited until all slots were allocated before prices were announced and i think most people we're pleasantly surprised at the £34k price tag considering the options relative to an Edition 40 and the CSS rarity!

I had all the information and price before I placed my order?

Information went out to dealers on 4th July with pricing and spec, I ordered mine on 21st July, slots were still available when I placed my order.
