I had all the information and price before I placed my order?

Information went out to dealers on 4th July with pricing and spec, I ordered mine on 21st July, slots were still available when I placed my order.

MSR - I think different dealerships were more up to speed than others ... I was the first CS-S order from Lookers Teesside on 20th July ... and at that point they had no idea about availability or price as the Price was not announced until the Launch in August to my knowledge ... Andrew

Well that information went live on desktop on 1st August so you did well to obtain it before:
Golf GTI Clubsport S sold out

01 August 2016
All 150 units of the rarest production Golf GTI in history now allocated ahead of its official open for order date

Golf GTI Clubsport S sold out VW0926-16
VW0926-16

Get ready for the Golf GTI Clubsport S, the rarest production Golf GTI in history – with 150 coming to the UK from a global production run of just 400 units.

All 150 units allocated to the UK have sold out before the official open for order date of 2 August.

The Clubsport S builds on the appeal of the already highly-desirable Golf GTI Clubsport Edition 40, the most powerful production Golf GTI to date. It is a road-legal track car with a 310PS version of the 2.0 TSI engine, and has claimed the Nürburgring lap record for front-wheel-drive cars with a blistering time of 7 minutes 49.21 seconds.

Key dates

Start of production will be limited from week 36 (5 September) to week 49 2016
Market introduction/on sale as soon as the cars arrive in the UK at around week 40 (early October)

Product specification and pricing

No car configurator, brochure or price list will be available because of the strictly limited volume of the Clubsport S.

This limited production model is available exclusively as a three-door manual version and is only available in three colours: Tornado red, Pure white and Deep black. The only other option is the deletion of air-conditioning which, if requested, saves around 10kg.

The Golf GTI Clubsport S comes with the following specification highlights:

19-inch Pretoria alloys in grey with semi-slick tyres
A fine-tuned chassis with Dynamic Chassis Control and bespoke ‘Nurburgring’ setting
Discover Navigation with Car-Net Guide and Inform
Front heated bucket seats and no rear seats

Because of the minimalistic and weight-saving purpose of this car, some items from the GTI Clubsport Edition 40 are not available on the Clubsport S. These include spare wheel, front centre armrest, pre-crash basic, Driver alert system, mirror pack, parking sensors, Adaptive Cruise Control with front assist and City Emergency braking and Light and Sight pack.

The Clubsport S is priced at £33,995 OTR regardless of colour or air-conditioning choice.

Sales

We have received huge interest from a number of enthusiasts who have already placed orders with their local Retailer since the Clubsport S was first unveiled at Worthersee in May, and now all 150 have been allocated to Retailers. As announced in Desktop article VW0615-16 communication about allocations, these orders will be honoured.

Supply update

The production of these exclusive cars is only from build week 36 to 49 2016. We will not have any free stock, and will not be issuing demonstrators. These cars are for the Retail channel only and de-tagging requests will be refused.

These models do not come out of your Golf allocation.

Communications and advertising

Although no configurator or price list will be produced, we will feature the Golf GTI Clubsport S on our Golf model landing page to showcase this halo product.

The car has already been featured heavily on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram when the model was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016 but we will featuring the car again to announce the open for order on our social media pages on 3 and 4 August.

Press

We are releasing this information to the press, so will expect to see it featured on various motoring websites.

Autocar has given the car a rare five-star rating, and there is strong praise for Clubsport S in other top UK motoring media including EVO, Car and Top Gear.

Training

No online or face-to-face training will be offered because this is a limited production model. The information you need should be contained within this article or on the Volkswagen.co.uk website. Please direct any other questions you have to your area sales manager or sales support manager

Has anyone got any idea if the black roof will be a different shade of black or just be exactly the same as the "Deep Black Pearl" ...?? and therefore be the same as the rest of the car ..??!

It better be deep black, it'll be real odd if its flat black on a pearl car imho.

I think it'll only be flat black on the red and white ones.

Hi all, First post as I'm awaiting delivery of my cs-s next month as well.
Currently about to leave a 6 month old R for it.
Received a copy of an email from VWUK from my dealer regarding specs of the car, only option being what colour i wanted (white, which i have secured) and that they were looking into the possibility of speccing all the UK cars without air con and awaiting correspondence back from the factory.
Mines is arriving without the air con, but looking at the previous posts seems most people have been offered either. So again yet another one to add to the lack of organisation into the launch of the car!

Dealers were asked in early July what spec and colour their customers wanted ie aircon or not and red black or white. If you ordered after this and quite possibly before as they took details in may of interested customers you may not have got a choice. As it is there are only 20 cars worldwide without aircon so if that is desirable for you (I assume you are looking to race it) then you have a very rare car.

Its incredible how many stories differ from one another ... It's as though we are dealing with Ferrari

I was in touch with another VW dealership which were allocated 6 cars and all of them were trade sales and looking to "Flip" - so the argument that all cars have gone to enthusiasts is not true in the slightest and pure wishful thinking ...

I think this whole thing will run and run ....
