Clubsport Orders?

Put my name on the list last week, We will be receiving our Clubsports from June/July onwards...

Seriously, to get a delivery date for June/July means the car must be being built pretty much now! Rather soon for an order placed last week! And it would be a MY2016 (ok not that important to everyone) which according to what my dealer said is impossible based on current factory queue. Sounds too good to be true but hey, I know I wouldn't complain if all of a sudden mine came earlier.

Edit: Just noticed you're based in SA. Wonder in which plant cars for SA are being built. If it's Europe i'd bet it's impossible to get it so soon, but I'd definitely wish it.

It is a bit odd, but think its right as Oz are getting cars now.

No idea why UK is so far behind, and it can't be due to RHD.

Our cars are from Wolfsburg... I have not placed an order yet, reason why I put my name down to see what is being brought in and awaiting final pricing... if the spec is not right I'll have to place an order and that will then take 4 months.

Quite strange that you guys are getting it so late? We probably have 10 of them in the country at the moment for dealer launches, magazine test drives and so on...  but then again we are a massive market for GTI's... it's one of the most common cars on the road

Ok makes sense. Those cars will be MY2016 though surely. Maybe important to people that tend to sell every couple of years, otherwise after 5+ years plus/minus a year old won't make a difference. And MY2017 get this thin bezel mirror (again, I could live without it) and maybe other minor stuff?

Wolfsburg it is here as well (mind you I am in Sweden not UK). It'll be 4,5 months from order to delivery based on the date I got so far so basically the same as what you've been told for SA. I think it's UK who has the biggest waiting time for some reason, RHD maybe?

I placed my order +/- 1 month ago and delivery is planned for September/October. I live in Belgium..

Some great news through email today. Car moved to stage 2: "Being built" and I got a build week for week 24, that's in less than a month from now and nearly 2 months earlier than preliminary build week which was week 31    

Still a MY2017, probably one of the first 2017 models that will be built and seems like it will make it here end of July. Super excited now but this is probably going to ruin my summer holidays which are scheduled to start right about that time 

Hope everybody gets their orders confirmed earlier than originally expected as well.

Around a month ago I think, so 20 of April roughly.

That's interesting as original information was up to 26 weeks from order.

Assuming your UK, maybe its in a lot with the demo cars?

No not in the UK mate so I doubt it's anything to do with the demo cars. Car is built to order and actually the original build week of 31 was just a dealer's estimate anyway. Once the order was in the VW system I started receiving emails about the progress directly from VW Germany. First one said the order had been registered awaiting build date and the second one was today saying it's got its build week for week 24, even the dealer was surprised. I double checked it's going to be a MY2017 and apparently week 22 is when they actually change model years in production line so all's good.

All in all it will be exactly 3 months (hopefully) from order to delivery, quite fast for a BTO car.
