Quite a few I would say, mine has been cancelled by VW as I ordered through my work. They are refusing to sell any of the clubsports to Rental companys now.

Anyone got a build date yet?

I was guessing we would see movement from "order with the factory" stage after week 22 (MY17 Cars) but no change yet.

No change here. Still with "the factory". They may well be making up the cars for the showrooms first?

The VW Order tracker for my CS is still at stage 2, however I used the Live Chat function on the website and the assistant there confirmed my build date for 29/08/2016. So does anyone know how long it takes from build date to delivery?

Anything from 2 - 4 weeks.
4 weeks probably being more realistic.

So as I had written a while ago, there was some sort of misunderstanding whether the car was actually built week 24 as planned, why it's been sitting in Wolfsburg still etc.

Turns out, that (all?) Clubsports have to go from one factory in Wolfsburg to another? (where exctly?/why?) for the manufacturing to be completed, which adds another 2-3 weeks to the building process  I was told this is Clubsport-specific, doesn't affect other cars but obviously adds an additional 2-3 week delay to the delivery.

Has anyone heard anything like that for the Clubsport manufacturing and was anybody awaiting delivery soon, and found out it's being pushed back? Very curious as to whether this is indeed the case and why it is so....

If the clubsports have to go from one factory to another it sounds like the main factory is building the base generic spec part of the car they can produce on the general production line and then the clubsport extra bells and whistles are being added bespoke in another factory so it does not slow down the main production line with the minimal number of cars or special requirements to fit the parts which make the car a clubsport.

Even though I work in a boring packaging company, we do something similar when there is a small run of a bespoke product which is not in the millions/hundreds of thousands or if there is a special requirement which we cannot produce on the machines on our production line we will produce the basic generic spec packaging on our production line and the special taping system, or pre-folded packaging requirement which cannot be produced on our production line will be carried out at another location by a third party or offset manual production facility of our own company.

This is a very similar process to what you describe Wolfsburg are doing with the Clubsport except not adding taping systems or pre-folding the clubsports.. at least I hope not?
