LSG... I have one, its metallic beige. The colour is soooo marmite, but I've decided its definitely metallic beige and a bit like diarrhoea.

Only 9 months left to go, then I'm going for another colour.

Seriously, worst choice I made.

Light plays huge part in how car looks on the metallics, my plain white virtue is that it's pretty consistent, you get what you see,  where as some of metallics flatter to deceive and maybe that marmite feeling on the LSG

Shame you feel that way a colour tainting the experience of car that much but an experience really do not want to share so really doing my due diligence on this - cabin experience is not going to change much so happy about that so it's just getting that walking up to car and loving it as much as when was delivered part right

LSG looked best of three saw today on cloudy day but none grabbed me to choose any and the black R in the showroom was most disappointing.

CSG would be my choice but think pretty much set on the R signature colour now of the Lapiz, unless have £500 extra floating around once selected options for Oryx

Midnight Blue never gets much mention but there is one see regularly at gym and though not had me really thinking to for myself it is decent colour for the R

Think the coated Pretoria would look good on most colours and they were what liked most today so shame they not an option

I would highly recommend Oryx White for the WOW factor.  I currently own a GTI PP in Oryx and it does turn heads for the right reason, I even now, still look at my GTI as I did when i first picked it up from the dealer.  You will see a difference with Oryx from pure white in most lighting conditions and when you do it's awesome.  I know it is an extortionate price, but it was the first thing I ticked on the option sheet when I ordered my R recently.

I personally think that Silver R looks epics

I agree, but I think the clear conclusion is the R needs a better grey. Put BMW's mineral grey on the R...

My sister in law has an A4 in mineral grey and you are spot on, it would really suit the R

Just ordered a Mk.7 'Match Edition' !  After the financial disaster on the GTD this one should be a safer bet....

Residuals ?

I must admit used Mk7 Golf GT's are looking good value now, if I go ahead with the M2 next year am seriously considering buying a Mk7 GT TDi you can pick one up for about £13k now, would be ideal as a commuter workhorse.  They look half decent with the 18 inch Serron (I think?) alloys and pan roof too.
Daily drive - LCI BMW 330 D Estoril Blue & Saddle leather. M sport + Pack / Prof Nav / Head Up / Heated Seats
On the way - CS ed 40 tornado red, manual, 3 door
Weekend fun - low mileage portofino blue 1997 Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo
2017 Build Slot reserved for BMW M2

Went to relatively local dealer today and talked myself out of the DBP from R saw in showroom, be far too much commitment to keep clean as know from owning two A3 in black and does hide some features, quite liked the silver R, preferred the Limestone but loved the presume coated Pretoria on the Silver R unless a new option? Which would take on white car

Think Lapiz will be my colour now though, as changes mind again!

Saw an R Line Golf and badging is too much like R for me, it's only as personally know not R from wheels etc many would not know difference

Some quick snaps

This silver was at a garage though likely one of salesman car but one question was have  these Pretoria been coated or are they Able to be ordered somehow?

Also the CSG is a serious miss on the R as works so well with the chrome elements but Lapiz is signature colour assigned to R and doubt that ever changes

Having seen all R colours in flesh now except Oryx it is down to Lapiz and White as my final choice
