Yeah, I fancy one.
I just couldn't afford the running costs!

The running costs aren't that bad actually, you'd be surprised.  Plus that sound

Ok, I'll have to dig into my other book of excuses!
I'm too old for one (probably)
It wouldn't fit in the garage
The dog ate my homework

Age, what you need is one of these:

Once you hear that V8 though...

One drove past me in a car park the other day, it was really funny, all the blokes just stopped and stared and I saw a few Windows get wound down to cop an earful of the noise! Definitely a mans type of car as the women barely paid any attention to it.
The lad driving it hardly looked 20 years old.

I'm late 40s so would probably look a bit of a tit driving one but I sure do love them. Not keen on the standard wheels though. Knowing Ford there's a raft of upgrades available.
If I was ten years younger...

Hired one in Hawaii last month - didnt think the V8 rumble was as good in the car as I had had hoped. Still attracted attention - with the roof down of course.....

My dogs wont fit or I would be mighty tempted - of course the 12 month waiting list puts me off too! wait a year, run for 6 months sounds a bad combination...

Great thread to have up. My PCP ends in sept. Want to move away from the diesel as I'm not doing enough mileage to justify theGTD ownership. That said saw a 330d msport similar to the one in this thread and it turned my head but my local BMW showroom would know good customer service if it dances around naked in front of the sales staff.

Ideally, as the family will be growing soon, I will need to stay in a 5 door and I would like something that is quick. Thought about an s3 but I don't really like the look of the  sports back. The saloon looks better IMO but the order books have been frozen.

Been doing the sums and with some cheap lease deals about it could be cheaper to lease than PCP.

I've been looking at some left field cats too saw some cheap deals on a R line Taureg and GLE Estate and it got me thinking about 4x4s.

Decisions decisions decisions.

Golf GTD mk7 DSG pearl black - collected 25 September 2013.

Three of those four look to be Diesels!
A rented cheap R estate would cover several of your requirements but ain't the prettiest. Having said that, as a fast workhorse that you won't shed too many tears over when they come to collect it in two years it's hard to beat.

The S3 saloon is a handsome car it has to be said.
