Wheel Spacers !!!!! yup again lol
« on: 08 March 2016, 19:50 »
hi all my names Neil.... blah blah blah lol

im new to the gti but not to modding clubs n forums etc use to show a focus all over the uk with my own club but the focus has gone my a3 going leaves that leaves the scirocco and the gti thats on order.

anyways that bit covered as stated my gti is on its way slowly i have read nearly as much spacer info on the mark 7 and to be honest with no definitive yes this is best or better i was going to do 20mms all round that bolt to the hub pros n cons regarding the bolts holding them to the hub, then theres the bolt thru " longer bolts" thinking this could be better.... and im looking to use `15mm rear 10mm fronts being the gti i have gone with the 19" santis ...

its not getting lowered been there done that killed the t shirt.. its staying standard apart from the spacers just for looks more than anything else,,, no track no doughnuts in car parks { although my grand kids mite like it lol but no ;-)... ) so just looking for a good straight up reply regarding 15s and 10s for a stance view...

thanks in advance,,, Neil

Welcome to the forum Neil.
I don't know whether it's my age but I barely understood 50% of your post due to use of text speak.
I'm sure some younger members on here will be able to decipher it though

hi Bungleaio

as it says i was thinking of going 20mm spacers all round that bolt to the hubs.

but other posts state 15mm rear 10mm front supplied with the longer bolts that hold the wheel through the spacer to the hubs are about the correct width for a better looking stance without and rubbing issues etc..

hope that helps

I was considering 15mm on the back and 10mm on the front but must admit the ecd flush kit looks immense!

Do these really make that much difference? I looked at the link and the wheels do fill the arches a bit better but I don't get it - I haven't noticed much of a problem with my car. Is there anything other than aesthetics?
