Its an AUM mate so drive by wire, im.really undecided what to do repair what i got or get the coupra R as theres so much more power to get out of them than the aum, im pushing out about 210 bhp now so dont wont anything slower lol but i really love the golf  :grin:

I'd remove the pipe before the pancake (have something ready to catch the oil) you'll lose about a cup full if its the seals shot.

Don't panic if it is this, if you don't want to chuck a load of money at it get a decent second hand turbo, its mainly the labour time that would be a killer but if you do it yourself its not too bad (remember £250 for a turbo to get the car working is less than I've paid for some MOT fail sheets)  :laugh:

Yea u got a good point there mate think i will replace the turbo  :smiley: ill take the pipe off sunday and see if i get loads of oil come out, any links u no of mate for fitting it as i literally have no idea where to start  :grin:

Turbo is time consuming to fix but once you've done it should last you a good while - dive in!

Ive bought a turbo now so waiting for the weather to brighten up abit so i can get it done,

Where abouts in Wales are you my family live on Anglesey, near Amlwch. Yeah PM away. I would seriously recommend a second set of hands (but that's not a volunteer  :tongue:)
If you weren't too far from Amlwch I am sure that I could help but only get down about once a month

Unfortunately im about 4 hours from there mate, i do have another pair of hands but we are both the same and dont have a clue what to do but we've got to start some where  :grin:
