Changes on VW Configurator - new bundled 'Packs' added

The VW MY changes fiasco continues.

Decided to email my dealer yesterday to get an update on my R and see what the current estimated build week is (was BW28 then shifted to BW24 a few weeks back).

Just got a reply saying the VW system seems not to have been fully sorted since vehicles have changed from 2015 model to 2016 (understatement  ). And that some models are showing errors (GTi and GTD model), and on several R models, mine included, the estimated build week has gone way back.  He's going to keep an eye on it and phone VWUK if necessary. 

Doesn't say way back to what?  So I've asked the obvious question.  Best guess wins a prize

I spoke to my dealer early this week and they said mine was showing BW48 but apparently all are showing that whilst they sort out the MY2016 palava. I then got an email update from the tracker on Wednesday saying my order had progressed to the next stage but it was actually still on stage 2 so I'm not sure if that meant something was going on behind the scenes. I also wanted to change the spec but was told that if I did my order would lose the MY2015 price lock.

Yeah gitsy, I remember reading somewhere (here or the R forum) of someone's dropping right back to well beyond BW40 from BW20 something.  Perhaps it's yours I'm thinking of?   Anyway, the way he stated 'way back' that's what immediately sprang to mind.   Hoping it is just a glitch in the system whilst they're still p!ssing about with the MY2016 changes.  We will see!

I was going to upgrade my Dynaudio to the Tech Pack. Mainly for the App-Connect/Carplay/Mirrorlink stuff than anything else though the dealer did say that they'd heard that VW had only managed to get that working with a handful of phones so far.

Did the same, upgraded to the tech pack back in April.  Time will tell what the situation with carnet, etc is.  My expectations of it are not high.

Yes, the wait is nothing new.  Waited months for my mk6 and my second mk5 before that.  I always take the long wait into account when deciding to order.  Decide when I want the car and work back several months from that.  It shouldn't be that way but it is.  Comes a a bit of a shock to those who think they might get a VW in 6 weeks though

I made a weird noise, like I'd been kicked downstairs, as the dealer said the words forty and eight! Assured me that wasn't realistic and just how they'd loaded the system while they sorted their MY2016 shambles.

BW48? That must be a temporray "time out" from the system preparing to reshuffle everyone in post BW22 surely? Unless you ordered the new £1640 paint job made with powdered Unicorn horns suspended in it.
