Changes on VW Configurator - new bundled 'Packs' added

do you guys reckon the reason for such a long wait is because of the week 22 changes that are due to be applied eg the new MIB 11 6'5 screen ? Called up today and they said im probably looking at mid august which in total would be 5 months wait 

Allocation limitations for the performance models is the cause. 5 months is normal for a GTI/GTD/R if it is an order made from scratch.

Your pointed and valid questions must have struck a nerve and VW were caught with their pants down and as they were unable to answer you logically and honestly reacted in a completely illogical and ridiculous manner. A rather poor show by them.

Good on you for taking them on.

  I just hate poor service, no need for it!  And I hate being lied to and mugged off - if VW were truthful from the very start then we'd all know where we stand - but they lie all the time.  You would not believe the amount of conversations I've had with various depts/dealers etc at VW whereby you ask the same question and get differing levels of BS.  Just tell the truth and then the customer is happy!

I've cancelled my GTi order. It was at stage 2. Whole debacle left a bitter taste along with some personal reasons.

You should not be losing that deposit money if the car has not been given a confirmed build week (which at stage 2 it most certainly has not). Ask the dealer principle for your deposit back in writing.

MH is right.  You're entitled to your deposit money back.  Even if the car is in the showroom and you decide not to take it you can still get your money back.  400 quid is 400 quid!

Go for either the branch manager or dealership group MD - Benfield group was it? Silverlink or Scotswood Road? Google it.

Have you asked for your deposit back and been met with a flat refusal or just walked away without asking for it back?

Be polite, but firm - they have no right to keep that money. If you don't get your money back then I would be writing to VW UK to get them to put pressure on the dealership.

The VW MY changes fiasco continues.

Decided to email my dealer yesterday to get an update on my R and see what the current estimated build week is (was BW28 then shifted to BW24 a few weeks back).

Just got a reply saying the VW system seems not to have been fully sorted since vehicles have changed from 2015 model to 2016 (understatement  ). And that some models are showing errors (GTi and GTD model), and on several R models, mine included, the estimated build week has gone way back.  He's going to keep an eye on it and phone VWUK if necessary. 

Doesn't say way back to what?  So I've asked the obvious question.  Best guess wins a prize

BW34 is my guess - just in time for Sept delivery if it moves very quick to the UK post-build.

My money's on BW33    There's the 3 week factory shut down during in that time. Well I did say I wanted in for 1st Sept, so ok with that. I will not be impressed if it drops back much further than 33/34 though.

If it is BW34 it'll have to ship a damn sight quicker than yours to get here for Sept, maybe a Christmas present instead
