Welcome Alx, and thanks for taking the time to post up the list.
Your list matches the info on a lot of the brokers sites so they must use the same source. Normally these are quite accurate, but I have a suspicion theres something going on at VW UK and it sure isn't clarity or the right hand knowing what the left is up to.

I've been around VW's for far too long and there's definitely something up. VW have just put a £135 price rise across the whole Golf range. That's the inflationary.
There's no way that they would then just chuck on random amounts of extra price rises to the GTI/D and R. There's no way the basic Gen II is worth £920 or £670 depending on which Sport Golf you pick. Then there's no justification for the £600 price difference in the Tech Pack between the models. There simply has to be a big spec change cloaked in there that VW haven't informed their web department or more importantly their dealers and leasing companies about.

The mk7 GTI launch was a mess and reading the forums the Polo GTI launch and spec seems a similar mess. VW UK have issues and the mere fact people are flocking to buy Volkswagens at the moment papers over the cracks. I guess Joe Average or his gran who walk into the showroom are blissfully unaware of the shambles going on and it's only a small minority of customers here on the forum who are a bit more clued up who are well aware of how sh!te VW UK can be and how embarrassing it must be for dealers to have to try to deal with clued up customers rather than ones they can just fob off. My local dealer don't even return calls they're that busy.

So, the best way to get to the bottom of it is to wait for things to settle down once VW's arse knows what its elbow is doing or get on social media and quote all the price and spec disparities and give VW UK hell on a level that will reach higher management in their ivory towers, or better still draw a bit of attention to VW UK from the Fatherland as we must be one of their biggest export markets and the exchange rate means they do rather well out of us.

Thanks Exonian

I've been receiving this CAP data on new models for 15+ years now and I've very rarely known it to be incorrect as its supplied directly to CAP by the vehicle manufacturer i.e VW (I'll probs be eating my words soon - watch this space ;-)).  Some of the terms such as the cherry rear lights may not match the fluffy descriptions in the brochures etc but the spec above is taken directly from the GTD listed as the 2016 model year...  From experience, I think you'll be bang on the money and when the 2016 GTD/I show's its face there will be a number of differences over the 2015MY.

The configurator may catch up in three to four weeks.

It's the only way to be sure.  The first (post BW22) car delivered on here is going to be the source of great interest!

But welcome and thanks to Alx for trying to clarify what is a very cloudy situation

Hi

First post.

I’ve been considering a new Golf GTI since early this year and have been mainly waiting to see if Apple Carplay would be added (since this was talked about in the press release in January).

I found this thread a couple of weeks ago and have been following it with interest.

So, like anyone else on here who is considering a new GTI/GTD – I was at first perturbed by the £920 increase in price – but seeing as (according to the VW website for at least 10 days or so) this increase would get you the three additional items as standard: Keyless, Winter Pack and Discover Media – PLUS the next gen MIB II interface – I kind of thought it might be justified.

Now however – they have dropped the additional features – but the £920 price increase remains.

I actually gave VW Uk a bit of grief on Twitter earlier this week about all the inconsistency. They kept giving me scripted answers basically saying that the website was in the process of being updated and sorry for any confusion – and admitted that the extra specs were an error.

It seems that with most of the inconsistencies gone and the new price list being publised today – we are basically left with nothing to show for the £920 except the MIB II. (Apple Carplay/Google Auto is an additional £100 on top of that).

Also - the Golf GTD Estate DOES still  have the Keyless, Winter Pack and Discover Media as standard.

Not impressed at all and not sure I want to give VW £920 more of my hard earned cash. Not sure what I'm going to do now.

VW are idiotically working their way up the Performance Golf scales. Yesterday the GTI could not be configured, today it is the R and the GTE.

Can't believe Tornado Red now costs £260. Equally mad Pure White costing £260.

I have never known any car company that is in such disarray.

Exactly the same feeling here - to balance things there is a 1,250 deposit contribution on offer for finance deals but what is the point of offering this and cynically adding 920.00 the list price. Then adding some  free extras - and then arbitrarily taking them away after a week or so. What sort of tin-pot company are we dealing with here?

Not sure what I will do about this either - I have suspended ordering a new Golf on the back of this - very disillusioned with the way VWUK have behaved.

VWUK seem to be very untrustworthy and not customer focused. I just cannot understand why they behave in such an unsavoury manner and why Head Office in Germany don't bring them to book. Or, is this how VW operate worldwide?

It is no wonder the majority of VW Dealers in the UK are a bunch of shysters.

I did point them at this thread (hope that's not against the forum rules) to show how many people are similarly annoyed.

I also asked them to justify the price increase. The response I got to that was:

UKVolkswagen: The pricing can fluctuate for many reasons and these models appeal to a wide range of different customers

Ha - talk about reading from a script.
