I managed to snatch a pre built R on a shipping dock in Germany. Saved me a 5 month wait, will be here in 2 weeks (I ordered it last week )

Lucky you, that's got to be one of the fastest R's yet    what spec you got?

Tbh, I'm not bothered by my wait and was planned so I could get a Sept '65 plate.  Interested in the GTI lead time as a mate at work was wondering, but I think he's 90% decided on a BMW 1 series.

Should find out my build week next week. I'm like a kid at Christmas already and have several months to wait for her!

Are you talking about getting your unconfirmed build week?

I know it depends on options etc, but what's the average wait for a GTI now snooze?

Well the stealer said he'd have an update on my Gti next week, so I assumed that he'd give me a build week. Tbh I don't really understand what build week means, but hey ho!

My car is standard apart from the paint. No idea what the average wait is now.

Just as it sounds. its the week the car starts to be built.  It only takes a couple of days.
So in theory you can work out when it will be ready to collect at the dealers.
Someone on here got their car 10 days after their build week had commenced but that's fast.
4 weeks is probably average after build week.
Here are the build weeks

As Steven says above.

You'll have an unconfirmed build week first off which is Stage 2, then it gets confirmed - Stage 3 and so on.  Depending on the model and spec, stage 2 is the longest.  I got given my unconfirmed build week a day after the car was officially ordered so just wondered why you haven't been told yours yet.  Somewhere in this section there's a map of the various stages if you're interested.  I'll see if I can find it later.

Spot on cheers booth. Yeah bit annoyed the stealer hasn't told me anything yet. To be fair I did originally tell them I wouldn't have the rest of my deposit till Sept. But I have since told them I'll have it by July. Hope this may speed up the process a bit!

Can't wait, only seen 1 R around this area so will be nice being a bit exclusive. Hope its a worthwhile change from the GTI
