Thanks booth.

I canny wait! Hopefully. Yes that was Defo a consideration. Ive had a red, silver and black cars before so wanted a change. Had planned on grey next, but the light great looked cheap and didn't like the dark grey in the flesh. Navy blue seemed a bit boring so white was the only option! Mines due 2nd Sept. A couple of the guys said it seemed a long wait, but Stealer said it may come sooner.

Oh I'd forgotten u were getting an R. Well jell! What colour and spec have u gone for?

I really like the mk7 GTI in White, suits it very much..  How about a nice gloss black roof wrap and matching mirrors, that looks amazing on white....haha, maybe get the car first eh.

I've gone for a 5dr DSG, DBP, 19" Pretoria, DCC, Vienna leather, Keyless, Discover Nav, Rear camera, High beam assist, Voice control.  Had quite a few new cars so not the same level of excitement as with your first time but still looking forward to it.  Stupidly gone for black again, must be mad and have nothing better to do than clean dirty cars   At least I won't have to buy a different colour charged wax

Wow sounds gd and expensive! Must admit I did want the Pretorias, but they would have been another £1k. Sounds like you're a glutton for punishment. I would have gone black again because they do look awesome when clean. But decided White would be less work!

If you think white is less work think again. It shows every tar spot and dirt known to man. It's worse than black in some respects as you can't hide the dirt on a white car like you can others.

Yeah tar must be a real pita, but I expect it's only really noticeable close up to the owner, never really noticed it on other people's cars, driving around, and I do look    Just have to use tar remover a few times a year.

Now a very, very dirty white car does look  but they do look great when clean.  At least white hides swirl marks better, which is a losing battle with black

Nice one booth. Hope u enjoy it. Did u have your heart set on black? I would have been very tempted by rising blue. Love that colour.

Ha ha, I doubt I could ever keep my car as clean as you do!

Thanks snooze.

It was a toss up between the lapis blue or black.   Initially I was very tempted by the blue, great contrast with the black grill and beautiful in sunshine, but.....I LOVE black and the stealth look, and think the Pretorias/silver mirrors and lip combo looks pretty good against it, plus there's always the option to go black with the mirrors/lip later for uber stealth.  The effort of keeping black clean doesn't bother me as it's a bit of a hobby

Personally I think light colours work best with the mk7.
On a GTI/D especially you lose the little touches like the lower grille strakes and the side skirt and black trim contrast on dark colours, and also the distinctive line down the side of the car tends to vanish.

VW used white for their initial launch of the GTI for good reason, red also looks good, particularly on a GTD or R.

If it was me buying again I'd get an R in silver then vanish into the background invisibly, and also in that colour I'd never have to clean it.

Well done mate, at the end of the day if you can afford it then why not

Good choice on colour, yes you will get quite a lot of tar splatter but nothing a quick spray of tar remover won't sort.

I love white but my next one will be Red (I think)

Well had a change of heart with the colour. Decided white isn't for me. Have asked for a Carbon Grey one instead!

Did the prospect of tar spots put you off?  Love Carbon Grey and sets the red stripe and calipers off very nicely, good alternative
