I was driving home last night from work on a dual carriageway doing 50 in 5th gear driving gently and I got the error on my MFD that my ACC and Front Assist were not available. What looked like a coil light and symbol for the ACC were also displayed as in the picture below.
The car lost all power and I crawled up the slight hill. I could barely rev over 2500rpm
When I stopped at a roundabout I got another message stating my Stop Start wasn't working.
I thought it was just a gremlin so drove home switched the car off and forgot about it. A few hours later I used the car again and it was back to normal but interestingly the power and responsiveness of the car had been the best it had ever been since owning it!!
This time I gave it a workout for a mile or so with no problems then when I was back to cruising at 60ish the car again had the same symptoms as above with no pwer. I came off the dual carriageway, switched the car off and back on and it was fine for the rest of my 20 mile journey there and back even giving it a workout.
Went out this morning to drive to work and with just the ignition on I got the same warning lights as above and then had no power when i started it up. No switching off and back on helped. It was a nightmare to drive.
When I went to come home from work tonight it was still exactly the same. The car is fitted with a tuning box and unfortunately I didn't have time to remove it but on my way home from work I simply changed to a different map and when I turned the ignition on the warning lights were away and it drove fine all the way home.
Anyone know what the coil and acc lights lit up together mean?
I'm curious as to why when initially I got the problem and just restarted the car a few hours later it felt a lot more powerful and responsive than it ever had. I don't think it was a figment of my imagination.
