No, definitely not.

Mine had one bulb done and the other blew a couple of weeks later.

Definitely can be fixed one at a time.

The problem I had with the dealer was that they didn't know what the error was or how to make the lights come on to test them!!!

turns out you cant change one bulb at a time...both have to be changed at the same time or it errors. 2 days without my car cos of something simple like that!

Has anyone heard of the system needing 2 new bulbs for it to clear? from a technical stand point i dont see how it could know the difference

on the plus side I got both bulbs for free and a kit kat for my trouble haha

I changed one bulb once when I dropped the new brighter one and it smashed. Had no problems for the time it took me to order a new one and for it to come.  I run LED's now and even running one LED and one Halogen when I was testing them didn't throw any errors.

Dealers don't seem to be able to diagnose problems physically now as everything is plugged in to get the error codes.

must be the time of year.  handy that this thread popped up as mine displayed the error yesterday

as others have commented, a slightly more descriptive error (and one that sounds les ££ to fix) would be better

new bulbs this morning then.
does anyone know what wattage the bulbs should be - i know it's in the manual, but it's raining

Mine came on again on Friday night. Really must go and buy a new bulb. I think it's about the fifth time in 2 and a half years

They might last longer if they're replaced in pairs so the filaments of both are in the same state of wear/burn/resistance.

What type of H7 lamp are you using? I've had both mine go within the past few months. I've had the car for 2 and a half years also. I replaced with generic GE lamps as I think any of the uprated lamps have a much shorter life expectancy
