We will be monitoring supply of the switch daily and update you of any change in position.

This does look like to most positive outcome to this needle in haystack we've all been frustrated with.

Got my car back just over a week ago, and the result of the problem was a low ampage on the battery when initial start up which they said they had seen a report on a Skoda Octavia VRs. So they swapped out for a new battery, and touch wood no problems!!!....
But you would of thought that might have been one of the first things they would have checked first

Not to say am just fuming, 6 errors came up on the touch screen this morning!!!......So the garage go a call straight away, and a few choice words were exchanged!!!!
I told them that this was the final straw, and was their last chance to get the car fixed because am going to ask to get some answers from higher up the tree. Mr hastie we would feel the same if it was our car!!.....well do something about it then.
Give them their due a brand new Touran SE 2.0Tdi was on the drive with in 30mins. So the back of lunch time i gt a call to say we have had a report back from VW UK and they want us to go ahead and swap out the steering rack...FFS, is that not what they wanted to do a few months ago and changed their minds!!!
The surprise is that there's not one in UK so guess what, it will be a week or so before we see one from Germany....
Am loosing it now, and feel like I want rid of the car as for one VW UK dont know what they are doing and the VW garage are fed up seeing the it back at the garage, and they are only going by what VW UK tell them...

Guys have you any ideas on what route i should take??

A very annoyed Gti owner

hastd2: Reject it and get an R.  Not saying it will be any more reliable, but it does seem like you got a Friday car.

How long have you had it?

Well guys I have a result in the saga which has been ongoing for more than a year!!!
I was into the dealer last Thursday for a chat with the branch manager and service manager to have my day and where we stand.
So I told them that I had contacted VW customer service and opened a case regarding my ongoing issues with my Gti, so all the data was passes on and the case was opened. I told the customer care guy the end result I would like is an exchange motor as there is something wrong with my gti
The response was we will try and repair the car sir!!... I said your not listening to me

So it was left at that and they would cal me back within 24hrs......by this time I had a meeting with the Service Manager and the Branch Manager of the dealership where I have been dealing with.
The meeting was about where we stand and what the end result of this meeting will consist of - me looking for an exchange Gti. which was 85% possible.
So on Friday past I had a call from Customer care telling me that there has been some movement regarding my case, which had=s now been moved from a repair case to an exchange case!!!
This being helped along by the dealers phone call that morning, so late afternoon came and my dealer called to say we have good news regarding your gti case, he had an email from VW UK stating that my Gti has a fair case for a replacement Gti and needs my dealer to fill out a report and submit it for them to go ahead with the exchange build.
So this has been approved and my new Gti will be ordered on Monday morning, the only thing i might change is the colour from Pure White to Tornado red and upgrade to the 19" Santiagos.

So the end result has been worth while

Good result! Sure you don't want to chuck the extra in and get an R?

I think the most important factor for you here was timescale of when you started suffering issues, not the timescale of when those issues became the last straw.

The wife turned round and said are you not happy with what you got!!!!......some folk would love to have a car like what you have.....so that was the end of that disscussion!!!
