Split hose - Advice....is this just a breathet

As in the title, is this just a breated and is it doing any damage? enginer wear and power loss?

Think there is some confusion here, that is a breather hose, it does not carry boost, instead it carried blow-by gases.

It is a breather, a leak here does not give you a boost leak, because it is a breather.

\No worries, i have a replacment on order anyway, but will it vause any running issues?

I was under the impression that you will lose mpg. Unmetered air getting in after the MAF?

It won't affect boost levels, but having said that, I imagine on a car without the TIP plugged, it will affect the running for the reason mentioned - unmetered air entering after the MAF, of course there is a hockey puck valve fitted to the TIP, but I'm not sure if it serves as a one way valve or not - most likely not.
