Jamo, ride a bike, tell me it's safe.
When is riding a bike ever safe? Can only assume the reduced speed on bitumen / loose chippings roads would render them safer than average.
You assume wrongly, massive loss of traction, because dangerous to break, accelerate and corner. And I'm not on about hooning it, within speed limits etc. You also get battered with stones off other cars etc
And to who said go another route, yeah I agree and no issue with that as such. But when your out on a ride in the country side and don't know it will be there it can't always be avoided. Round here as well lots of villages have only one route through, so avoiding one road could take 15+ miles easily to avoid a small stretch of road
