I agree terrible idea hate those bloody stones, they just re-did the road in my village & didn't use them i was very surpised & thankful

It's not something that's used within the confines of towns and villages but rather where it's needed. Roads with poor drainage, others that suffer with cracking. It prolongs the lifespan of the surface underneath. The only negative is the loose gravel for upto 8 weeks, but it's hardly a hindrance. Most will have a 20mph limit until most have settled.

What's life without moaning...

A better life....

You could always go a different way. I had to when I was out on my bicycle the other day. I did an extra 4 miles to avoid a freshly laid layer of wet tar and stones. It was a bit of extra effort for me as it involved a steep climb, but on a motorbike, it would have taken 5 minutes without breaking sweat.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Signed, next to the huge potholes this is the worst think about the UK roads.

Mods I think that you should post this in every section to give it full exposure.

When is riding a bike ever safe? Can only assume the reduced speed on bitumen / loose chippings roads would render them safer than average.

Yes because i'll blissfully defend anything the council do out of iggnorance. Of course not, i work on cars, but i do live in a area where this use of road dressing has been used prevalently for a good number of years and have seen a vast improvement in the road conditions.

Now you are just making stuff up as well as moaning about people moaning, all the country roads round where i work & live are done with stones, thats why i was so surpised they didn't do this one section the same as all the other roads !
