please sign this petition to stop road resurfacing with stones!

Buy a new car or get yours resprayed and see if you have the same views on these roads. Its not temporary.  The loose stones get flicked up for weeks. My mate got 4 stone chips in his screen from a lorry on the other side and that was after a week!

The positives far outweigh the negatives sadly.

I am sorry but you are an idiot if you think its good and you clearly have no love for you car or you have too much money and don't seem to care how often your car is in a body shop.

For example I recently got my R32 and just yesterday I dropped it off to a body shop to have the front end resprayed due to stone chips, I must add I cannot comment if these were due to these type of roads or weather the previous owner drove it like he stole it which is more than likely the case unfortunately.

We all pay our taxes and pay a stupid and I mean stupid amount of money to TAX our cars.
You do not get this issue in most places aboard, the roads in "most" euro countries are fantastic and rarely ever need repairing and that's due to them using correct materials in the first place the old saying buy cheap buy twice comes to mind.

Its funny how you hardly ever see motorways being resurfaced even though they are the most used roads in the country! funny that! just tells me they are using the correct materials on the motorways but don't give two sh!ts about side/main/back roads.

As for your attitude on the bikers, "be more careful then" you have clearly never ridden a bike, do you even realize how difficult it is? you have to be extremely careful, even riding over a wet leaf can take you off your bike, the white markings in the road can take you off your bike in the wet, riding over horse poo can take you off your bike not to mention stupid dump car drivers that think its funny to move to the middle of the road when they see a biker riding down the middle to get though traffic.

Bikers have a lot to look out for on the road and I do not for one min envy them. I always ensure I help them when I can by ensuring they have enough room to get past, and bikers recognize this and regularly give me a thumbs up.

I am not having a go at you mate or looking for an argument but your short comments aimed to put people down are not working and you clearly have a narrow mind if that is your overall thinking.

Back on topic mind, I have shared this over social media so hopefully will see a positive reaction.

Whilst I don't like tar and loose chippings on the roads, I'm afraid I have come agree with Jamo in seeing that they serve their purpose at the expense of short term inconvenience and only upset a very small section of the countries motorists who like us, take care of our vehicles.

We don't pay road tax, so we can't use that played out argument. We pay an emissions tax and have done for 30 odd years.

It's very rare that if a road is re-surfaced, that there isn't another way that you could go. I'd rather go a few miles out of my way, rather than run the risk of getting stone chips. I'm not one for whinging about things that I know will never change. If I don't like it, I'll make the effort to make sure that it doesn't effect me.

No Jamo, I am not looking for a fight. I just say what Im thinking and id take a guess that most others were also thinking the same.

I personally could not care if feel what I said was out of line, this is a dicussion board and people will generally say what they like, it wasn't a rant at all. Just my point being made.

Yeah sure, whatever. I think most are quite happy with the current trend of resurfacing though and the petition does not give nearly enough good enough reasons for it even to be considered so it falls at the first hurdle regardless of how many sign it.

Complete waste of money, not only do the chippings cause damage and are dangerous for bikers but it also doesn't last long so the road still needs to be resurfaced anyway.

That's the government all over though ain't it.

I agree terrible idea hate those bloody stones, they just re-did the road in my village & didn't use them i was very surpised & thankful
