The RNS in my MK6 used to be quite slow to boot up at times too. I'd see that orange screen and the "system starting" for a couple of minutes some days. It was quite random though, some days it started up instantly, other days I got the slow boot. No real pattern to it.

Was yours from the factory, or retro fitted?

Retro fitted!

I've still not got this fully sorted. I've managed to get rid of the rear camera message and somehow changed the colour scheme from red to grey (I don't mind that), but I can't for the life of me get the Nav directions up on the MFD.

Can anyone help please? Screen shots would be brilliant.

Google is my friend.

it would seem that there is a BAP setting in the Navi 37 Control Module. If its a mk6 I believe its supposed to be enabled if its a mk5 I believe its supposed to be disabled. Might be byte 7 bit 7. It would seem most people call it a MFD rather than a DIS when googling the issue.

Rumour has it the RNS510 needs a reboot after any coding change as well.

Thank you. It will be interesting to see what you find out when you do yours.

There is a message on the VCDS screen suggesting that the RNS needs a reeboot by pressing the <> and Eject buttons, but I didn't do it when I turned the camera off and that worked ok.

dubber l'm not sure but to get the nav directions up in the mfd display i think you have to have a factory fitted compass. This is located i think at the top of your rear hatch. Dont quote me on that tho,

I think for nav on the MFD you need the NAV option ticked in the CANBUS module.

Mk6 GTI 3dr | DSG | Tornado Red | 18" Monza 2 | LED Xenons | RNS510 | Bluetooth | Smoked LED tails | Cruise | Reversing Camera | TPMS | - now sold :(
