Different sized spacers on same axle?
« on: 17 February 2014, 22:03 »
Ive ordered some 15mm spacers as my arch is catching on rear driver side. I was going to swap both as it made sense however reading about how the axle isnt set right, could I keep passenger side with 20mm and put 15mm on one or will that throw stuff out of line?!

Why? The rear axle is off centre by 5mm so by using different width spacers the wheels will appear to 'poke' the same amount.

Could you not centre the rear beam on the body mounting points?

I don't think it'd look funky as we are talking 5mm difference and as Dom said it'd even out the poke which is why im considering it if feesable. Thai-horse if heard people do it but assumed itd be a big job so never lookex into or considered it.

I'll probably just go 15mm a side whilst running these tyres,  just to be safe.

Surely 2.5mm is obtainable by simply undoing the mount bolts and levering the beam across a bit?

Its really easy to do mate loosen the bolts then tap the beam accross

I would look to centre the beam, would be the better option.

I would get a proper laser alignment place to move and set the rear beam.

Where all my moneys went.

it seems like a better option really long term, just assumed it'd be a major task. I'll have a look into it, cheers lads.
