I used to cruise up and down in a white Fiesta, then later in a Mk3 Fiesta SI with RS side skirts and arches! Good old XR2 and RS Fiestas, was the sound track to my early driving days.

Trust me, I thought that about those guides at first, but if you get out there and just take your time, you'll come to realise that this whole impression that modern engines are harder to work on isn't true. Yes, there's more bits attached, but a few bolts later and it's all off. Best way to learn is to get out there, take it apart, put it back together. If it runs, you know what you're doing, if it doesn't, re-try until it runs.

Start small and work you way up. Very first job to learn is an oil, filters and spark plug change, then from there work your way around the car. No-one was born knowing how to take a car apart (or put one together), we all had to start with a set of tools and a puzzled look on our faces.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Gave the car a good run from Essex to Devon on Christmas Eve, no issues at all even though I had to drive through a flood (small one) and got stuck in traffic for about 2 hours oh and it's epic round country lanes lol :)

I've driven mine round Dartmoor, but not since its been tuned. Once the new brakes and suspension go on, it'll be taken back there at some point.

Didn't think of taking it to Dartmoor, something to do next time i'm there lol although when I usually go to Dartmoor I do it old school style with one horse power ;) not as fast but still fun.

I've trekked around Dartmoor and it is fun, but the roads are just as good. Brecon Beacons in Wales is good too, apparently.

I might have to do a bit of both (driving and horse riding) when i'm down that way next lol. There's a good place that does pub rides, nothing like tying your horse outside while you have a beer ;)
