I agree with you but some people are not able or want to spend £750-£800 on just a turbo,
The trusty K04 shouldn't be ruled out as a good conversion. Stainless manifold isn't really needed, the cast is Ok.

For those trying to achieve a good power upgrade on a budget should consider it,

270-280bhp is achievable and will more than enough for most coming from a standard or stage1 K03s car.

Plenty of good K04's out there, Ill be selling one just after xmas.

Dans turbo's are great, infact he is building my K04 right now, But not within every ones budget.

I feel they shouldn't be steered away from going K04, It's a great conversion and very do-able on a tightish budget.

And if budget is no problem just go with Dans K04 Hybrid which is breaking 330 which cost less than the k300

This is good advice, I certainly wouldn't rule out a KO4. It's not all about peak power figures anyway

Whos this dan guy? Its not beach buggy turbo aka littco? How much did the hybrid cost? What is it hybrided with?

Dan, littco, beachbuggy are all the same guy haha

I think they are hybrids made with custom wheels etc not just bits from other turbos

.

To be fair if your starting from scratch with a standard car etc then if you after about 280 bhp a k04 is decent way to go

BUT

If you already have k03 mods such as a k03 downpipe and inter cooler etc then I would say its a definitely makes more sense to get a k300!

The k300 has a awesome power curve and is definitely not a "peak power turbo" and have also been proven to hit 300bhp+ regularly whereas most k04's won't hit 300.

spot on!

looks immense the power curves from recent cars with correct supporting mods, 300ish peak and doesn't tail off at all.
