Which discs and pads?

Hi. I got the warning light for brakes on my gti 180 a couple of weeks ago. A friend had a look and said the rear look ok for now but the front pads and discs could do with replacing. I won't be doing any track days so don't need anything too expensive but wouldn't mind getting some brembos or something like that. I found these fronts and rears on eBay and just thought they looked a bit cheap considering it's front and rears with pads and was just wondering if they're what I want or if I should be looking for something else. I'm sure this has been asked before but I had a quick search and didn't find what I was looking for.

I've always used Pagid's for disks and pads and have no complaints.
if you get them from euro car parts you can take advantage of the forum discount as well.

I would avoid drilled discs as they tend to crack.

Any they are completely unnecessary on a MK4 golf.

Pagid is always a safe bet, I'm running Apec on mine and they do the job fine :afro:

Ive got mintex all round. Work well althogh a bit of squeal with light braking. I think I paid less than a ton for all four discs and pads.

I did brake pads on an Audi RS5 today, lovely motor a friend of the family has had it from new (2011) he said it's never had brakes done before.

I removed the pads and they have Pagid stamped on them. If they'll do from factory for an RS5, they'll do for a Golf.

I think Pagid are what Porsche use too.

I use Brembo discs and pads on the front and they are really good.

All of the pagids I've seen are just a flat surface rather than grooved or anything. Would you say they're good enough and buying more expensive ones would be overkill for what I'm going to be using them for or if I can afford better ones then get better ones? I Don't want to waste my money but I don't want to cheap out either
