Finally got around to adding in a driver's side auxiliary radiator on the CS.

I did some data logging beforehand to do comparison and see what difference it actually makes.

It's a fairly easy install, just 2 connectors (one on the thermostat housing and the other on the main radiator outlet) and a few hoses. All OEM stuff from a Golf R, might do a full write up with part numbers in the future.

No leaks so far just one nightmare of an airlock but that's tomorrow's job!

Unnecessary? Yes. Do I like having them? Also yes. Had some spare time and soldered them on - just wished they were a little brighter. Hoping that someone will release higher quality ones like you get in the new BMWs or Audis.

Got mine from this website here: https://auto-passion.co.uk/Volkswagen-Golf-GTI-Door-Welcome-Puddle-Lights-p464333759?srsltid=AfmBOorD9ksKj09_s5J1-Z2ZVerbX3bPRdPO9NflGEDzmk33waMDw80Y

They also sell the harness that you need solder on. However, the harness is super short and does require extending or soldering further along main loom so you’re closer to the reflector cutout at the bottom of the door.

That being said, I’m 95% certain that both the projector and wiring loom are the same ones you can get from AliExpress. They aren’t that bright but work well enough at night.

You can also get the puddle lights and harness here. It says their harness plugs straight in.

No idea of the quality.

I got my local independent garage to change over damaged driver's side wing mirror. I didn't realise changing this would require clearing error codes. I now feel slightly better that I didn't try changing it myself.

Will be putting my car back to standard as I'm selling up, so will have a few nice bits to go on the classifieds R600 intake, my BBS CI-R and potentially my remus exhaust.
