Velcome to ze forum Flower.
Like they ^^^^^^^ all say 10k will buy a nice 2nd hand mk4 with all mod cons and they're good for motorway bashing as well especially the TDI versions!
Best thing to do is to have a look around Ebay, Autotrader etc and see if anything catches your eye then ask us lot what we think we may beat around the bush a bit but we're a friendly bunch really!

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

Yes find out the age limit on the car and what mileage you are expected to do. Then decide.

I don't know if it's still applicable, but my old manager had a Triumph TR3 as a company car, apparenly it was all good things for the company as there are tax reliefs for old cars  :smiley: but they have to be fairly old, so you are looking at an original Mk1 probably

Also the resale on an older car is better, for example I don't really see me loosing too much on my Mk2 and Mk1 prices are going up (and rightly so, they are lovely :) )

Keep the company car to rack up the millage on since the company are paying for it.
Then get yourself a nice Mk1 or Mk2 for weekend fun.
