I've ordered it on my GTD, but obviously as the car hasn't been delivered yet, I can't comment on it's effectiveness.

However, as I understand it, externally the only give away's are the "Dynaudio" logo's over the A pillar trims and a sub woofer in the boot (oh, and an amp under the passenger seat).

It is on a demo I had for an extended test drive and I wasn't blown away, not in the slightest. I do think that the upgrade will be most useful to those that would otherwise run the stock system at least 75% of max.

Anyone who has specced it will tell you that it is the best thing ever - they've just spent £500 on it. They wouldn't be spoending that money if they didn't believe it would benefit them. Look at yourself and the way you listen to music in your car. If you don't tweak the bass up and have volume over 50% of max almost all the time then you definitely won't be getting the most out of it.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I have configured Dynaudio on my car.  The reason I configured it was down to the fact I listen to Trance, House and similar genres, so Bass and clarity at higher levels of audio across the range were required.  I cannot speak for VW and how the Dynaudio will differ from the main system.  But I have heard the main system which comes with the car standard and was impressed with the volume and clarity.

I have had Honda's with/without their Dynaudio equivalent and it was was worth the extra cash for the 'Bassworks' system (Dynaudio equivalent) over the standard.

My thinking is if the standard system was that good in the GTI then Dynaudio will be really good with the extra sub and Amp.

However if I was on a budget, Dynaudio would be one of the options I may have dropped over another more useful one.

Hope this helps

Not sure this warranted its own thread in addition to the existing options one where exactly the same is being discussed, but anyway...  I sat in a demo and used some music off my SD card, and at the way I listen to music I couldn't appreciate the difference, unlike at home where there is a massive difference between my TV speakers and my KEF surrounds...  My point is, you are replacing a very good system with something that's a bit better.

At the end of the day mate, if you are indecisive now about your options, forums aren't going to help because for the most part, you'll get both sides of the coin.  You need to go with what you want and can afford.  Yes, Dynaudio will sound better at higher volumes, but how important is it to you?  Go and test it, otherwise how will you know?

Firstly not comparing BOSE to Dynaudio system just the experience from standard set up to being sold to option vastly improved one.

Upgraded from standard A3 set up to BOSE (that is 3 years with each set up) when got newer model and aside from the cool looking speaker covers feel strongly that it was money I should have spent elsewhere.

The standard set up is pretty decent in it's own right and more than adequate for the usual driving conditions particularly if you have an increased amount of time with passengers - maybe if do tons of motorway miles on own you might be able to get the additional benefit as system gains better conditions to offer the improved quality and you hear some of clarity that standard system would miss.

At home I have a Denon system that got 5 stars in What Hi Fi (like most here, researched it to death ) and high end headphones/speakers, so do understand what decent sound is. The main difference is the home system is in perfect conditions to really appreciate the quality where a car is compromised by conditions.

Of course many will disagree with this but as always just a personal and subjective opinion and mine even more so as tend to listen to radio a lot more these days which again dilutes any audio quality gain that would be seeking.

If I had decent budget and can just simply afford it then do as them plates alone are very cool and there will be times you will be able to pick out that greater quality but if you are down to choosing one thing over an other then there is more bang for your ££ in options that will genuinely improve experience each and every day.

I have specced ACC some will say makes no difference, some will say the fact it is active at all times it improves comfort markedly - subjectivity rules here and it is great to see everyones views and when an overwhelming consensus it really helps in a choice but if it is ever split you are down to it being truly a personal one.

Same here, at home I've got a modest, but nevertheless pricey and very good sounding audio setup, so can also appreciate what decent sound is.  But, I echo what you said, that's at home in ideal conditions. In a car it's a totally different environment, and my focus isn't on quality.

As you say, if everybody overwhelmingly said yes, it's amazing, the decision is easier.  Otherwise it's very little help.
