I really don't buy this 2 week window crap...  How can a large manufacturing company, even one as seemingly incompetent as VW at the moment, do any decent form of production planning with a window of up to 2 weeks per car?  Ridiculous.

Me neither, they must have just made this "rule" up a few days ago!  A while back weren't we told the BW means the car could go into build anything up Sunday evening of that week?  So it wasn't 2 weeks back then...

Do they not have meetings at VWCS where they discuss the fact that they have clearly irritated a bunch of GTI orders and therefore conclude things to do to make the customers happier.  Because they seem to be choosing the exact opposite... like fewer explanations, more estimates that seem unbelievable, more conflicting messages... why can't they get their story straight and tell us instead of us having to pester them and then not believing what we're told.

Personally I really hope my car is truly BW37 because if I pass on that M135i and then there is suddenly another problem with the GTI I'm going to be so mad.  Frankly it seems like another problem or three should be expected judging on the progress so far.

They really are sh!te. They can get one BW33 car out at pretty much the start of the week and on it's way, but a load of others are untouched on Friday afternoon of the week it's meant to be built. I was sure they didn't work weekends, do we now think that they do?

Trouble is I can't think of any other car i'd rather have right now - maybe a 3 door A3 S-line if I could get a cracking price, but if VW can't get 184PS TDI engines out for teh GTD, why should Audi fare any better, unless they've just taken a huge chunk of the VAG allocation of this engine?

OK, so if they work a 7 day week that starts on a Monday, and the build week means any time up until Sunday of that week, then it could be the middle of the week after when it leaves the factory.  That's fine, and totally believable.  What I don't believe are the sheer number of excuses and inconsistencies we have all experienced.

I guess I'm fortunate in that it was planned for week 32 and ended up being toward the back end of it, leaving the factory the Monday of week 33.  Had things gone pear-shaped, like monkeyhanger there really isn't any other car in this class that I want right now.

It's much much worse if there IS another car in the class that you want.  Trust me on this! :undecided:

Just specced up an A3 S-line with the GTD engine for fun - About £2800 more and missing ADC, but gaining those brilliant S-line seats in 1/2 leather - GTI/GTD should've gotten seats like those. I was also offered a lot more p/x for my Scirocco ages ago when I made an Audi enquiry - almost a grand more than the VW dealership i'm ordering from. I will be seriously pissed off if the car doesn't move next week. I go on holiday on 24th Sept for 2 weeks, I really don't want to be away for 2 weeks having literally just picked up my GTD a few days earlier.

Would they dare unconfirm a confirmed order, or just push you into another week (but officially not move at all)? If I was unconfirmed on a GTD i'd be seriously up a height right now (BW51 ), but that issue seems a purely GTD problem right now, no need for the GTIers to worry (yet).

I seriously can't believe the stories from delays people are saying.

Sounds like an utter shambles.  Has anyone picked up the phone to ring autocar or evo ?  They would prob be very interested in this story.  Seems they have totally screwed up with either demand planning, component ordering or something.

,
Makes me glad i bought used now, sounds like less hassle.  Guy picked up my 330 an hour ago (genuine tear in my eye to see that car go) and picking up my 135 coupe in the morning.  Makes you wonder if all the waiting is worth it for a new car.. When its badly handled like this.
Daily drive - LCI BMW 330 D Estoril Blue & Saddle leather. M sport + Pack / Prof Nav / Head Up / Heated Seats
On the way - CS ed 40 tornado red, manual, 3 door
Weekend fun - low mileage portofino blue 1997 Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo
2017 Build Slot reserved for BMW M2

That it does.

Regarding Evo... You do it mate, that way they can't cancel any of our orders as retaliation!
