Its from a dealer just round the corner, they are as p*ssed off as me.

My original estimate was end of June to mid July, but then had an estimated build week of 38 right up until last week.

There doesn't seem any point keeping the order if they stick with BW51 as I can probably get a better BW if I re-order.

Don't know what to buy if I cancel though. Not a fan of BMW may go to Merc though to support Lewis in his F1 car.

Errrr, I'd be cancelling straight away and heading over to the BMW garage.  120d - quicker and nearly as economical.  That is absolutely outrageous!

I wouldn't be, not with those looks!  I'd be waiting for the next iteration of the 1 series hatch before even entertaining the idea of owning one!

First things first, ring VWCS and ask for an explanation and and exact date of when your order was accepted, it sounds to me like your dealer may have fluffed your original order? Get the facts (however loose the facts are) before cancelling.

I don't think the dealer fluffed the order, its been on the tracker for months now. There is something fishy going on though, I think that if I walked into a showroom now and ordered I would get it quicker.

Depending on how much you want the car and how much discount you got I'd be looking to cancel and reorder with the best discount currently available (still 12% ?), and take your business elsewhere on principal if nothing else.

That really is outrageous. My build week has just slipped from 34 to 42 so I can empathise. My dealer didn't even call me to tell me this, I had to leave 3 messages with reception before they even got back to me.

Does anyone know the actual rules regarding deposits? I'm 99% sure I'm going to cancel now, mainly out of principal on how I've been treated throughout the process. But is slippage in the order enough to be guaranteed the return of your deposit?
